May 2026 Update: Opening Our Doors and Growing Our Community

May was a month centered on connection, community, and support at Hope Harbor. As our campus continues to grow, we were blessed to welcome visitors, answer questions about our mission, and celebrate another exciting milestone for our foster care community.

Our First Open House Under the New Foster Care Model

This month, we hosted our first Open House under Hope Harbor's new foster care model, and we couldn't have been more encouraged by the response.

The event, titled "Ask Us Anything," allowed attendees to experience Hope Harbor firsthand. Guests toured the campus, shared lunch with our team, and participated in open conversations about foster care, our mission, and the unique support model that makes Hope Harbor different.

We loved meeting individuals and families who are interested in learning more about how Hope Harbor serves children and foster families throughout Oklahoma. The thoughtful questions, meaningful conversations, and genuine interest from attendees made the event a tremendous success.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to hosting more opportunities like this in the future as we continue to grow our community of supporters, volunteers, and advocates.

Our Community Grandparents Have Officially Moved In

Another exciting update this month is that our Community Grandparents have officially moved onto campus.

After first connecting with Hope Harbor earlier this year, they are now settled in and ready to begin serving alongside our foster families and children.

Their presence provides an additional layer of support, encouragement, and stability for the families who call Hope Harbor home. Whether it's offering a listening ear, helping with day-to-day needs, building relationships with children, or simply being a caring and consistent presence, they will play an important role in our campus community.

We are grateful for their willingness to serve and excited to see the positive impact they will have on the lives of our foster families and foster children.

As we continue serving children in foster care and supporting foster families across Oklahoma, we are reminded daily that none of this happens alone. It takes a community working together to create safe homes, meaningful relationships, and lasting hope.
