Volunteers
The
efforts of
volunteers are a vital part of the work of Hope Harbor. This results in significant
cost savings. Volunteers contribute over 2,600 hours per year in the areas of
administration, campus improvement, development, planning, and direct services.
Here are just a few examples of how volunteers make a difference at Hope Harbor:
- Over 130 volunteer callers contribute a total of 500 hours
during the annual phone campaign and raised over $180,000;
- Volunteer receptionists at both the development and administration
offices each contribute an average of 3 hours per week answering
phones, routing calls, taking messages and performing other
clerical assignments;
- The Sojourners, a group of senior citizens who do community
service projects throughout the country, recently added a new
bedroom to one of our cottages at Tucker Campus;
- Over 30 youth from area churches spent three days cleaning
up tree limbs from a recent wind storm.
